Kayaking Tours

What Kayaking Trips do you offer? 

  • We offer 3 unique trips to a glacier lake, mountain lake, or on the ocean through the community of Halibut Cove. Each tour is an all day experience tailored to your specific group. 

What is the best month to go kayaking in Alaska? 

  • ​​All of our tours are available June, July & August, and can be arranged once you arrive at the Lodge. 

What type of kayaks do you use?

  • We use Sevylor Inflatable Kayaks, which have adjustable seats, a low center of gravity, and are extremely comfortable. 

I've never kayaked before - do I need previous experience? 

  • Absolutely not! The inflatable kayaks are extremely safe, and suitable for all ages. Your guide will give a short instructional lesson before heading out on the water. 

I have young children - are the kayaking trips safe for them? 

  • Your guides are licensed United States Coast Guard US Merchant Marine Officers who have Adult & Child First Aid & CPR training, and are Certified Kayak Day Trip Leaders who have undergone extensive safety and rescue courses. 
  • Your guide will include a safety portion in the instructional lesson before the tour. 
  • Each child will be paired with the parent or guide at all times.
